Do you want to be a green mom-to-be? How can you avoid dangerous pesticides or toxic cleaners? You want the best for your baby even before giving birth then you should really read this great article by Margie Kelly.
It’s quite shocking to know that:
It’s hard to hear, but toxic chemicals like BPA, mercury, and phthalates have been found in the bodies of pregnant women. More than 200 chemicals have been found in umbilical cords from newborn babies. While it’s not possible completely eliminate toxic chemicals from your body, there are steps you can take to reduce chemical exposures for you and your baby.
I came across another great site that’ll give you tips on green parenting, it’s Keen for Green:
There is no better time to green your lifestyle that during pregnancy. Common pollutants that barely impact you and I can have a much larger effect on your growing baby, in utero and out. Make these simple changes during pregnancy to establish healthy habits for your kiddo.
Here are some green pregnancy tips:
1. Eat locally grown, organic foods. The fewer pesticides you consume the better. Organic foods, of course, use organic pesticides. The most common foods to be contaminated by pesticides are fruits and veggies, including peaches, apples, strawberries, spinach, bell peppers, celery, and potatoes. Fruits that come with a tough peel, such as bananas and oranges, are less likely to be contaminated.
I gave birth in May and yes I did worried about different things when giving birth to my little baby. There were too many things actually. I was worried about it many times but it turned out they didn’t really matter. What really matters is that your baby is healthy and the rest is pretty insignificant.
I was worried about whether my baby is going to be healthy, the pain that I have to suffer during labor and so on. It was quite miserable to think about but I knew that the most important thing will be to hold my little baby in my arms.
Well, I read an article about this topic and I think it’s quite fascinating and entertaining at the same time. Check this out:
What to wear? What to wear? This isn’t the prom, people. The jig is up. I’m giving birth for chrissakes. What I’m wearing is whatever the hell is going to get that baby out of me fastest and with the least amount of pain. What I’m wearing? Sheesh.
Giving birth on the way to the hospital
Granted I only live about ¼ mile to the hospital as the crow flies (when you live somewhere rural, you’re allowed to say that with a straight face and no irony). But still. I read all of those stories about women giving birth in cabs, on sidewalks, and on transatlantic flights, and I was mortified at the prospect. Even though my water broke at 2 a.m. with my older daughter, it wasn’t until 8:30 p.m. that night until I actually gave birth. It can get really slow, people. That’s why it makes news when it’s not.
What to listen to
A birth mix? Music to have contractions by? Admittedly, my only birth plan was to give birth. But I guarantee you that 9 out of 10 women with birth plans give up somewhere around the 19th contraction and change tunes, as in, turn off the music and scream, “Get this sucker out of me!”
I’m a new mom and I always want the best for my son when it comes to different baby care products. Moms talk about different baby care products and there’s a big confusion which are the best baby products to use. The most important thing is that the baby care product should be free of:
parabens
sodium laureth sulfates (SLS)
phthalates
1,4 dioxanes
propylene glycol
PEG’s
Check always the labels if you want to use completely healthy baby products. Thanks to SafeMama she made a list of heatlhy baby products.
It’s also a good news that Johnson & Johnson has created a new site where moms and dads (too) can check how safe J&J baby products are: www.SafetyandCareCommitment.com an initiative to help consumers better understand all the measures they take to make their beauty and baby care products as safe as can be.
Skin Deep is also a great place to check how safe a baby care product is. They break down ingredients list and they also give a ranking to a specific product. Good guide is also a great place to check a specific baby care product.
I hope I could help, anyway it’s also possible to check every single baby care product in advance, before you buy it. I usually Google the name of the specific product and I always find useful information about it.
It’s always a big question what to do when you’re a new mom. Breastfeeding vs formula feeding – which is the better? There ‘re moms who aren’t able to breastfeed their babies. It’s not their fault, they just can’t. In my opinion we shouldn’t judge each other because of this. I’m a new mom and I do breastfeed my baby however it’s not enough for him that’s why I also bottle feed him. There’s nothing wrong with it. The most important thing is that the baby should grow and be healthy. It doesn’t really matter which option we choose when our baby is fed properly. Please read this great article about this very important topic. It’s pretty controversial and everybody has its own opinion about it:
There has been a lot of controversy lately in the BF’ing world, from the very famous Time magazine cover to Mayor Bloomberg’s decision to hide formula in hospitals. Here is the thing: they are YOUR boobs. Not the lactation specialists’. Not the pediatricians’. Not your husband’s. Not your mother-in-law’s. They are yours. Therefore, it’s YOUR choice what you do with them. No one should be making the decision for you. My heart hurts for those who feel the pressure to breastfeed, especially those who just can’t do it and for those who are miserable because they feel like if they don’t breastfeed, they are a bad mother. Well, let me tell you – you are far from it. You should never feel the need to Google “am I a failure for not breastfeeding?” because you aren’t.
I have 4 girls that are perfectly healthy and none of them were breastfed. Sure, they may have been for a day or so. And sure, we tried to make it work. But, it just didn’t; each time, it was a different reason. Yet they are no different than my many friends who breastfed. Yes, I understand breast milk is the best choice when it comes to feeding your baby; however, I don’t think it is right at all for a mother to feel pressure to breastfeed. It isn’t only “right” to breastfeed your child. You just need to feed them. Period. Breastfeeding, bottle feeding – whatever way you can. It can be very hard for a new, first-time mom to feel the pressure to breastfeed and if for some reason she can’t, even after all the help she gets, she still can’t do it. How do you think that mother would feel? I know I would feel awful, which is why I am totally against pressuring breastfeeding. If you can do it, more power to you. But don’t make those around you who can’t feel like bad moms because their milk supply may be insufficient or the newborn can’t tolerate her milk for health reasons.
I also meet a new mom in the hospital and she couldn’t breastfeed her baby. She felt guilty which she shouldn’t. Read this article and please tell me what’s your opinion.
The best way to save money on your grocery bill is to use free grocery coupons – no sign up. Where can we find these grocery coupons and how can we use them? I’ll help you to find the answer to these questions.

I’m going to be a first time mom and to be honest I have to learn everything. It sounds really easy but I have to learn how to dress my newborn baby too. That’s why I love the Internet because you can find anything and everything, even how to dress your newborn.
It’s always great to get some free baby stuff especially free baby diapers because they will cost a lot of money. Let’s check out together how to get them:
Baby fairs and expos: always check out when is the next baby fair or expo in your neighborhood because you can meet loads of vendors who will give away samples, free baby diapers and great little goodie bags for babies.
Always ask for diapers: if anybody asks you or calls you whether you need anything always mentions diapers. Ask for diapers as a baby shower gift. Don’t be shy, everybody knows that diapers are expensive.
You can also switch to cloth diapers, first they are much more environmentally friendly, second you don’t have to buy thousands of them. I agree they are more work but on the long term they will save you money.
Try to find free coupons and discount coupons online. There are loads of them, just keeps your eyes open.
I hope these tips will help you to get some free baby diapers.
Many moms are scared when she notices that her little baby has cradle cap. First it’s important to know what cradle cap is and how to treat it. It may seem bad but it’s not as serious although it’s important to treat it.
First let’s see what cradle cap is:
Cradle cap (infantile or neonatal seborrhoeic dermatitis, also known as crusta lactea, milk crust, honeycomb disease) is a yellowish, patchy, greasy, scaly and crusty skin rash that occurs on the scalp of recently born babies. It is usually not itchy, and does not bother the baby. Cradle cap most commonly begins sometime in the first 3 months. Similar symptoms in older children are more likely to be dandruff than cradle cap. The rash is often prominent around the ear, the eyebrows or the eyelids. It may appear in other locations as well, where it is called seborrhoeic dermatitis rather than cradle cap. Some countries use the term pityriasis capitis for cradle cap. It is extremely common, with about half of all babies affected. Most of them have a mild version of the disorder. Severe cradle cap is rare.
Baby massage or infant massage is getting more and more popular. Why baby massage is important? It can help your baby when he or she is colicy. It’s also a great way to communicating with your baby, it also calms him or her.
I’ve came across this great video on baby massage, how you can start it. I think it’s pretty useful:
Ayurvedic medicine in ancient India taught the use of infant massage. It was also has been encouraged in China during the Qing dynasty. At present it is part of traditional childcare in South Asia and elsewhere where daily massage by mothers is seen as “instilling fearlessness, hardening bone structure, enhancing movement and limb coordination, and increasing weight”. Other areas where infant massage is regularly used are African countries and areas in the former Soviet Union. In Western culture, infant massage has been increasingly used in neonatal intensive care units for pre-term infants who are in stressful environments and have limited tactile stimulation.
Then you will find a form that you will have to fill out and give your:
– name
– address
– email address
– sometimes phone number too.
It’s smart to set up a separate email account because you’ll receive many emails and you may want to keep these emails separated from your private ones. When you give your phone number be prepared that you may get telemarketing calls. There are different free samples where you don’t have to provide them with your phone number – it depends on you whether you want to share it with them or not.
You just have to repeat this a couple of time and you’ll be amazed how much free stuff you’ll get in the mail. Sometimes it’s easier to use an auto-fill program because you can save some time with it.
I hate spams like you. I would never send spams or give your email to anyone else.
